It’s the new year and I was looking for dietary modifications to help me: increase my blood sugar; decrease my insulin; and make my cells insulin sensitive. I happened across an interesting premise:
Our cells are filled with toxins, which make them sickly, overburdened and incapable of functioning properly–if at all. Through diet we are directed to avoid toxic foods and to eat as much as we want of the healthful foods. We need to eat a a lot of these healthful foods…A LOT! The more we eat of the healthful foods, it causes overcrowding in the cells and the toxic junk gets pushed out. It’s also important to eat a lot of the good stuff because avoiding the toxins leaves space in the cells that needs to be filled and if we don’t fill it with the good stuff, any toxins will happily take up the space.
It made me wonder about the diet I have for my mind.
Am I letting thoughts turn sickly in my brain?
Am I avoiding toxic thoughts?
Am I filling up the empty spaces with healthy thoughts?
Am I feasting on The Word?
Am crowding out the toxins with A LOT of The Word?
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Phillippians 4:8
