I started this site in 2012 to inform friends and family about my journey with a rare cancer…that turned out to be just one diagnostic detour on my twenty-year quest for the answer, “What’s wrong with me?” I’ve seen more ‘ologists’ than I can count, but only one real-life ‘McDreamy’.
Clinical trials, naturopathy, diets, essential oils, etc. — been there done that. I’ve tried it, so you don’t have to. However, navigating a chronic ‘mystery illness’ while single and caring for ailing, aging parents (with the help of my four siblings), allowed me to collect nuggets of delight as an antidote to life’s daily discouragement.
Ultimately in the spring of 2015, I got a solid diagnosis—five day later my mother got the prognosis of only months to live. Since that spring, I’ve traveled to nine different countries, and my mother went to her heavenly restoration. I’ve made it this far with the prayers of my prolific family (30+) and friends (innumerable)…but my journey’s not done yet! I keep putting one foot in front of the other.
