I have a little toenail problem and wanted to take care of it with items I had on hand. I read that soaking your feet in a basin of hot water with Epsom salt and cayenne pepper would draw out the impurities in only thirty minutes. After just twenty intense minutes I couldn’t stand it any longer and removed my feet from the pit of liquid fire. I took a quick tepid shower–the rivulets of water from rinsing shampoo out of my hair had me wincing in pain the instant they reached my feet. Finally I soaked my feet in icy water. I was done with the fire water, so a little poultice of oils (tea tree, oregano and cayenne) was my new plan of action.
Nine hours later, my feet still feel like they’re on fire.
